Humpbacks Humpback whales’ hearts weigh over 200kg, their lungs are each the size of a car. They also have huge appetites and can eat 1,300kg of food in a single day. They have hundreds of overlapping plates in their mouth – and feed by gulping about thousands of litres of water in a single mouthful and then filtering out their tiny prey.
